Iran’s First Electric Overpass Established in Pakdasht

TEHRAN, Feb. 8 (Mehr News Agency) – The first electric pedestrian overpass in Iran was established in Pakdasht city on Sunday.

The governor, the Friday Prayers leader, and city officials attended the opening ceremony.

 

Pakdasht City Council Chairman Ashraf Gharechelou expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Pakdasht Municipality officials in establishing the first electric overpass in the country and said he hoped that the city’s traffic standards would improve in the future.

 

The Pakdasht mayor said that the escalator, which can transport 900 people per hour, was purchased at a cost of Rls.1 billion from South Korea and was installed by Iranian experts in less than one month and launched during the Ten-Day Dawn.     

 

He expressed hope that such measures would decrease accidents and improve traffic conditions in Pakdasht city.
